Bare-root roses

Autumn: from early October to late November, as long as the soil is frost-free and fine-grained. Light night frosts are not a problem, as the soil usually thaws again during the day. When planted in autumn, while the garden soil is still warm, the fibrous roots that are important for water and nutrient supply are still forming. This gives these plantings a time advantage over those planted in spring.

Spring: from March, as soon as the soil is frost-free again. To protect the roses from frost and drying out, mound them up with 20 cm of garden soil immediately after planting.

Autumn: from the end of October to the end of November, as long as the soil is frost-free and fine-grained. When planting in autumn, the fibrous roots that are important for water and nutriend supply still form in the warm garden soil. This gives these plantings a head start over those planted in spring.

Spring: from March, when the soil is frost-free again. Cover standard rose crowns with a rose cover or other breathable material after planting.

This protects them from frost and prevents them from drying out in spring.
