Last year, the NDR visited us three times with their team and accompanied us throughout an entire rose year. Following a sophisticated cross-breeding plan, our employees pollinate around 80,000 flowers by hand each season. In autumn, we harvest around 300,000 rose hips containing seeds. At the end of December, these are planted in seed beds. It takes years to see whether the seeds will produce successful varieties.
We are now looking forward to the Nordreportage programme about rose breeding here in the rose town of Uetersen.
