Miniature roses

Miniature roses

They represent a range of compact miniature roses, reaching a height of generally 30-50 cm. They are ideal for rockeries, around patios or beds or on graves in cemeteries. Planting near large shrubs or trees should be avoided to ensure optimum conditions for the patio roses. Patio roses are also ideal for planting in containers and thus provide flexibility in use. Spacing should be around 30 cm (approx. 11 per qm). Different flower forms are also offered in this range, including classic and nostalgic forms and fragrance, such as ‘Heidi Klum®’. Patio Roses are also very attractive as standards planted in large containers or to give height to flower beds. Some of the older miniature roses should be planted in airy location with morning sun to ensure that there leaves dry quicker to minimise foliage diseases.

What are miniature roses?

Miniature roses are small, very compact growing rose plants. They reach a height of around 40 centimeters. Their mini flowers and delicate leaves give the plants a very attractive, cute look. They originated in China, and modern roses have also been popular in Europe since the 1920s. In the Rosen Tantau range you will find numerous particularly attractive miniature rose varieties with different flowers in shades of white, yellow, purple, pink or red. The popular rose Apricot Clementine and Yellow Clementine, for example, impress with their strong, closed growth and robust flowers that grow in large umbels. The rose Lavender Ice, with its slightly larger flowers, is a rather unusual variety of miniature rose. The double flowers are extremely magnificent and have a subtle scent. We only offer you varieties that bloom more often - this way you can enjoy the small flowers for a particularly long time.

How far apart should I plant miniature roses? Tips for use

Despite their compact growth and small size, correct planting spacing is important: Plant miniature roses in the ground approximately every 30 centimeters, which corresponds to 11 plants per m². This way, beds can be designed very tastefully. Miniature roses are particularly effective in small gardens throughout the summer. They are also ideal for planting in balcony boxes. Rock gardens can also be beautifully embellished with small roses. Alternatively, they are also very popular in pots and not only decorate the garden, but also living rooms.
