Shrub roses
The ornamental shrub roses, which bloom more often, grow upright with mostly slightly overhanging branches. These shrub roses are not only suitable as group or hedge planting, but above all as an effective focal point in the middle of a ground cover planting. As the smallest unit, we recommend planting three ornamental shrub roses in a triangle, 50 - 60 cm apart.
Shrub roses: How tall do shrub roses get?
Shrub roses are not only decorative, but can also be used very flexibly: Ornamental shrub roses generally grow to a height of around 120 to 150 centimeters, but depending on the variety, 80 to 300 centimeters are also possible. Accordingly, they can display their beauty in different places on the property. As a garden hedge, the beautiful flowers, sometimes simple, sometimes full, combine practicality with decorativeness. Because shrub roses develop a veritable sea of flowers, they are often used as solitary plants. Planted in smaller groups, however, they are a particularly eye-catching plant. Shrub roses can be used to create very pretty accents, especially in the midst of ground cover plants. Shrub rose varieties with very long shoots are also suitable for climbing. Similar to climbing roses, they beautify trellises, old fruit trees, sheds or even house walls. Shrub roses are also popular because of their scent.
